Outdoor Photographer of the Year

Outdoor Photographer of the Year

Happy new year everyone…think I can still just about say that! Hope you’re all looking forward to an exciting, peaceful, happy, healthy and, well, anything else you can think of! 2017. Just a quick note to say I was pleased to see that one of my images was one of the 16 shortlisted in the final of Outdoor Photographer of the Year and got a reasonable amount of media coverage as a result. Along with another image it will feature in a book of the competition to be released soon, but in the meantime, here’s the shot (one I know you’ll be familiar with already!) and a couple of links to some of the coverage.

A portfolio of polar bear images will also be on display at the Destinations travel show in Olympia on 2-5 February (or perhaps you’ve already seen them in the Manchester edition of the exhibition during January. These are in the final of the professional category of the Wanderlust Travel Photographer of the Year competition, and although its usually some remote hill tribe rather than wildlife that scoops the prize, it’s great to be banging the drum for natural world photography in the final…and, well, who knows? Result due on the 3rd Feb!
