Well, because 2027 filled a lot faster than normal, and there were a lot of people being disappointed with the “sorry we’re full” email, I’ve decided to set up some more group opportunities for those wanting to travel to some of our most popular destinations, as well as a couple of new ones too.
All the itineraries and more information is to be had on the 2027 Group trips page, but in summary we have added in the following:
Zambia
Perhaps not surprisingly, this all-time favourite location of mine – the Luangwa valley – has been propelled into the headlines with the recent launch of the BBC series “Kingdom”. We already have four full groups of four guests each going in September next year (2026), but in order to give the chance for others to attend, I’ve added in a couple of groups for 2027 as well. The trip will be identical (except for the absence of me) in format to the 2026 outing, and includes a couple of full days in the Nsefu sector.
Zimbabwe
Over the many years of working in Mana Pools, and Zimbabwe in general, I’ve had some of my best wildlife experiences and whilst I personally am tied up with other projects in the next few years and therefore unable to get back there, my long-time partner in crime – Mark Friend – has agreed to look after the groups that I send out there. Mark is arguably Zimbabwe’s leading professional guide, and no-mean photographer either. He understands exactly what I expect from a trip having worked with me personally for many years, and will therefore be able to deliver some of the most heart-stopping, authentic photographic experiences you are likely to experience anywhere. So, if you fancy the wild-side of things, take a look at being part of one of the two groups of four we are organising for 2027.
Brazil
The Pantanal has been a major target for many over the last decade, and I’ve been lucky enough to spend about a year of my life there shooting for a wide range of projects. We have been sending individuals and couples on bespoke trips for a few years now, but as that is not always for everyone, I’ve decided to organise two more group outings of four people each, all under the expert, watchful eye of Karen Arine Souza – one of Brazil’s foremost naturalist guides. Karen has worked with me for many years and has always been my choice when it comes to looking after the people I’ve sent to the country. With her at the helm, you can be assured of some epic wildlife encounters and photographic opportunities as she completely understands the approach I’ve always used when I’ve been personally working in the region. There are just two trips of four people each available.
