OK, so, this is definitely left-field, but something I’ve been working on bringing together for quite some time and now, finally, it’s all lined up.
For a few years, a substantial number of people I have met (via the trips I already run, at shows/exhibitions, on location and, well, everywhere!) have asked me if I “dive”. For me, however, the wonders of the wild blue yonder will remain something firmly for others to experience whilst I wave cheerily from above the water. I guess I’ll always be a “terra-firma” photographer…although, having said that, there’s less elephants to chase me in the oceans….I digress.
Despite my own aversion to submerging beneath the surface with bags of air for company, I do work with suppliers and logistics companies that are also heavily involved in supplying film crews and professional photographers with not just “on-land” assistance, but underwater options too.
So, in a nutshell, after a couple of years of discussions, I’m now confident to release the first two of what, I hope, will be exciting new travel options for those of you keen on your underwater photography. Using some of the best guides in the business (and, most importantly, those with heavyweight experience in dealing with the likes of “me” on location!), we’ve worked together to come up with the ideal Philippines experience.
More trips will follow, with Mozambique on the agenda too. For now, though, you can click on the links below to look at the inaugural trip being launched in April 2026 (land-based) and an absolutely fantastic live-aboard experience for 2027. Both trips are strictly limited in size and will operate on a first come, first-served basis.
ITINERARY: DIVES OF DUMA 2026 ITINERARY: LIVE-ABOARD VISAYAS 2027
As ever, the essence is on trip quality. There will be just 6 people on next year’s trip and 8 on the liveaboard. To put the latter into perspective, we have chartered a boat that can handle 16 guests, but are only half-filling it 🙂 We will also ensure that there is one dive instructor/guide for each 2 divers, and we have lined up a wide diversity of dive-types on each trip to ensure you get the maximum photographic opportunity.
